Knowledge Management Advent – Door 12: STEP eLearning #KMAdvent17

Time taken: Anywhere, anytime

What is STEP?

A suite of eLearning modules focused on developing literature searching skills for the healthcare workforce. STEP is hosted on HEE’s eLearning platform eLearning for Health (eLfH) and three modules are now available https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/literature-searching/

How can LKS support STEP and what are the benefits?

STEP is openly accessible through the eLfH platform. LKS can directly link to the modules or embed animation from your website. The activities and assessments can be used before and after face to face training and there is the option to share source files to local LMS. The thinking behind STEP is “do once and share” – modules won’t date, are generic, and give staff a great introduction to search skills. Look out for more modules in the new year.

Knowledge Management goals achieved:

  • Connecting people to the evidence base
  • Helping people keep up-to-date
